It will be lively again in Karlsruhe City during the 2009
Marathon on September 20th. Within the mARaThoniade,
connecting running, art and culture, spectators will be
able to see many highlights. 2007 the FIDUCIA Baden-
Marathon presented a new concept downtown – the
‘Karlsruher Klangstrahlen’, which definitely was a shooting
star. As participants are sure to run even better when
cheered on, a new concept will expect you 2009.

mARaThoniade®: Running with Art...

On September 20th 2009 the 6th mARaThoniade® will
take place. The three letters ART stand for creative
actions within the program of the Marathon. The last
four years it has been a program, which was known
for a unique and at the same time wide bridge to the
art scene.

The 42 mileposts from the 2004 and 2005 marathon
course have been created by students attending the
Design Class of the Carl-Hofer School in Karlsruhe.
Forty-two creations and original styles - inspired by
Michelangelo, Rembrandtall till Andy Warhol – remind
us of art history’s own varied mileposts.

In 2006 artists of the Hanauerland-Werkstätten in Kehl
created 42 new mileposts. The Hanauerland-Werkstätten
is an institution for people with a handicap, which tries to
integrate them into work life.

In 2008 the "Kratzbürsten" designed new comic milestones, which we are going again in 2009.

There will be a great show of art and culture during the
mARaThoniade®: Starting from body painting before
the start and people running with this ‘kind of dress’
during the marathon race to people presenting art and
cultural events along the course – the FIDUCIA Baden-
Marathon offers runners and spectators an unparalleled
eventful and diverse experience.
